Stand Up For Y.O.U (You, Others & Unborn) Where are the new Naira notes?

Sometimes I wonder, where are all our new naira notes?
Are they in Central Bank strong room for a purpose unknown to Nigerians or vice versa?
Why do we have more dirty and tattered naira notes in circulation than the new notes?
Everyday, Nigeria naira notes goes round in circles of banks to users and users to banks; yet we still have dirty notes than the new notes.

This is my question to you if you are reading this, who should we blame for the scarcity of new naira notes, is it the politicians whom people believes are hiding money (new notes) in their homes or market sellers who withhold the new notes because it doesn't come often or banks that doesn't disbursed new naira notes?
Please leave your comments in our comment box below.

In our quest to get the bottom of the subject matter we decided to ask Nigerians this two questions

Why do you think there are more dirty and tattered naira notes at public disposal than new notes?

What solution would you suggsst?

Here are their repsonse in quote.:

"The solution lies within us, let us respect our naira notes and keep it neat at all times." - Hon. Mrs Fanoiki Usman.

"1)The notes are been recircle for a long time
2) Naira notes should have a duration..then after a period of time the old notes should be faced out and new once released" - MC Gaks Gabriel.

"Because Nigerians do not have culture of keeping their money in a wallet or money pouch.

We keep and drop our Naira anywhere and anyhow.

Even the introduction of polymer note could not solve the problem

It is for people to learn how to keep their naira notes well in their wallet.

Yes..banks give back what the society deposited to them. We bring torn and dirty naira notes to the bank" - Nancy Eneh.

"It depends on your environment, local place much of local naira.

Advice we should learn how  to be clean.

All days new notes are been produce you don't expect everyone to have it" - Frank.

"It's the government responsibility to pump in  more clean note so as to chase out the dirty once.

That's when we all see the effort of the government" - Young Heir.

However, you will agree with us that to have more clean and neat naira notes in circulation we need to spend the new notes we have.

2) Inculcate the habit of using wallet.

3) Properly align naira notes in wallet.

4) Naira notes should be handle with care.

5) Naira notes should not be use for any experiment whatsoever.

6) Naira notes are symbols of Nigeria, should be handle with respect.

7) Holding the naira notes at home reduces money in circulation thereby directly or indirectly affect Nigeria economy.

What more can we say? For Nigeria to be great you and I have important roles to play.

It is Big Brother Naija not Big Brother South Africa - Nigerians call Multi choice for answers.

After a long wait for Big Brother Nigeria reality TV show to return it finally came back but with a big slap on the face of the country it shares name with.

The reality TV show commenced shooting recently but it is been shot in South Africa.

Nigerian Minister for information, Lai Muhammed who lamented on how Nigerians bombarded his office with calls seeking answers why the highly anticipated Multi-Choice reality TV show is been shot in SA.

The Minister has directed National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting of the on going Nigeria star making reality TV show in South Africa.

According to the statement released on Tuesday in Abuja, Lai Muhammed said NBC should determine whether the shooting of the show in South Africa has breached the Nigerian Broadcasting code in anyway.

Meanwhile, he also urge Nigerians to allow NBC and the government to handle the situation legally.

"As a country of laws, only the outcome of NBC investigation can determine our next line of action " - Lai Muhammed.

Mobile data plan price to increase from Dec.1st. ₦1K data plan will increase to ₦3k.

Subscribers of the Global System of Mobile telecommunications across the country would pay more for data with effect from December 1, 2016, The PUNCH learnt on Monday.

Although the telecoms companies declined to speak on the matter, top management workers across the networks confirmed the story to our correspondent, saying that the directive was from the Nigerian Communications Commission.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a senior management employee of Etisalat Nigeria said,

“The NCC issued the directive late last week on the orders of the Federal Government. We have not announced it yet because most of the major telcos have been meeting the NCC on how to reverse this policy, because it will be too harsh for Nigerians.

“However, we further gathered that the Federal Government took the decision having discovered that data rates are very low-priced in Nigeria, compared to other countries, including nearby African countries.

“The government might have also taken the decision given that Nigerian subscribers have been kicking against the proposed nine per cent Communication Tax, whose bill is currently in the National Assembly.”

Pleading not to be mentioned, an employee of MTN said,

“What this means is that MTN, Airtel, Etisalat And Globacom will increase their data rates as from December 1, 2016. A data plan of N1,000 for 1.5 Gigabytes will now be increased to N3,000 at N1,000 per 500 Megabytes.”

In text messages sent out to its subscribers, MTN, Africa’s mobile telecommunications giant, confirmed that it had agreed to implement the directive of the NCC.

The MTN text read, “Dear customer, please be informed that from 1st of December, some MTN data tariffs will be increased to reflect the new rates set by the NCC for operators. Thank you.”

The PUNCH could not obtain an official response from the NCC at of the time of filing this report.

However, a representative of the commission said that the telecoms regulator was unaware of such plans by the operators, even as she said her bosses had claimed ignorance of the circulated message.

“We are unaware of it. I just asked my bosses; they are unaware. We will forward your query to MTN for appropriate attention,” she said over the telephone.

However, in a letter by the NCC to the operators sighted by our correspondent, the commission stated,

“This rate will subsist pending the finalisation of the study on the determination of cost-based pricing for retail broadband and data services in Nigeria.

“In order to provide a level playing field for all operators in the industry, small operators and new entrants to acquire market share and operate profitably, small operators and new entrants are hereby exempted from the price floor for data services.”

It added, “For the avoidance of doubt a small operator is one that has less than 7.5 per cent market share and a new entrant is an operator that has operated less than three years in the market.

“All operators are to ensure that subscribers are not automatically migrated to pay-as-you-go platform.

“Also, note that effective date for the interim price floor is December 1, 2016.”

Reacting to the development, the President, National Association of Telecommunications Subscribers, Mr. Adeolu Ogunbanjo, said that the NCC representative was being economical with the truth.

He said that for MTN to have sent out millions of text messages to its subscribers “clearly shows that the NCC indeed issued the directive.”

Ogunbanjo, however, said that the association would resist the tariff hike, adding,

“We will challenge it in court. We are going right away to set the machinery in motion. We are also going to do an urgent letter to the NCC Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Danbatta, which we will drop in his e-mail box.

“Unfortunately, the notice is short; yet the order will take effect from December 1. It is not just good for broadband penetration, whatever the reason may be. It is against telecoms subscribers.”

According to him, data availability means more youth engagement because they use data to develop apps and build software.

“But with what the NCC has done, these boys who develop apps will be slowed down and limited. The cost of doing business will also increase,” he added.

This Lioness had an amazing hind surgery.

Stumble on this while strolling on instagram with my phone. This lioness was involved in a fight with a much more stronger counterpart who almost rip off her left hind.

Luckily, the zoo paramedic team were notified and came to her rescue. The wound is more than they expected so they have no choice than to turn the field where she lay into an open surgical theater.

Fortunately, they were able to stitched her from inside out, apply some skin treatment spray and bam to help the wound dry fast and heal.

RESPECT TO THIS GUYS. Like my people will say "I throw way my cap for you [I salute you]".

Watch the video and let us know what you think.

YABATECH: FIRE OUTBREAK IN BAKASSI HALL.

There was an unfortunate fire outbreak at Bakassi Hall of Yaba College of Technology early this morning. The fire has since been put off by the College firemen.

The fire began on the fourth and topmost floor, making access to the point of attack difficult. Thank God the College fire service is equipped with an excavator, which immediately came into use.

It is surprising the kind of falsehood broadcast by Channel Television and it's cohorts that there was no water to quench the fire, based on falsity sent to them by some misguided students. The question is, where did the water used to put off the fire come from.

Meanwhile, the Rector, Dr. Margaret Kudirat Ladipo has called on the College community to remain calm while the Management finds immediate solution to the exigencies.

The College has also suspended academic activities till further notice. The College will address the Press on this incident at about noon.
